RAILWAYS: Government’s Railways Commission Approves Procurement of 44 Trains

A session of the government’s Commission for Railways was held on 22 July. The meeting was attended, among others, by Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic (SDP), Transport Minister Sinisa Hajdas Doncic (SDP), and Finance Minister Slavko Linic (SDP). The commission announced the beginning of construction works on the railway corridor Dugo Selo – Krizevci in 2014, valued at €220 million.

They also discussed the on-going restructuring of Croatian railway companies HZ Cargo, HZ Passengers Transport, and HZ Infrastructure.  Zagreb-based Koncar Group – Croatian electrical, transport and energy company – is frequently being referred to by the media as the frontrunner in the upcoming call for tenders related to the production and delivery of 44 trains worth €160 million to HZ Passenger Transport…
