On 2 July, the Lipa Association celebrated their Tax Freedom Day in Zagreb. On that occasion, the association presented its activities to the Croatian public, as well as their invention – the Tax Freedom Day Calculator. Founded in 2014, the Lipa Association advocates lower taxes and smaller government, better representation of taxpayers in the public debate process, more public spending transparency, simpler rule of law, cost-effective regulation and, ultimately, resolving the debt crisis. Zoran Low was elected Lipa President in March 2016. Low holds a BA in Economics and an MA in Information Science, from the University of Zagreb. He has been Board President of the first Croatian e-learning company Cognita since 2004, and Manager at the consultancy Convenio.
