OIL & GAS: Albania’s Support Key to TAP Gas Pipeline

On 3 September, a delegation of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) consortium, led by General Manager Kjetil Tundgland, met with  Albanian Prime  Minister, Sali Berisha in Tirana. Tungland said that he praised the support and important role of Albania and   Prime Minister Berisha and the personal role he played for the TAP project, without which the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz Consortium would not have selected TAP as its strategic corridor to supply natural gas to central Europe.

He informed the Prime Minister that the construction of the access routes for the pipeline will soon start in Albania and that the largest Belgian company of gas distribution, Fluxys, joined the TAP consortium, which, with the construction of the pipeline linking Belgium to Italy, makes TAP a project for pan European gas supply…
