MANUFACTURING: DIV Group Opens Metal Parts Factory in Knin

On 16 September, the DIV Group, Croatian manufacturer and trader of industrial fasteners, machine parts and metal products, opened a new metal screw factory in the town of Knin (Sibenik-Knin County). The investment is valued at €35 million, creating 400 new jobs. Samobor-based DIV, owned by Tomislav Debeljak, expects that it will indirectly employ an additional 350 people through suppliers and logistics channels.

The factory will produce goods solely for export and the investor plans to gradually raise DIV’s annual exports to €130 million from the current €20 million. The financing was secured from the company’s retained profits in the amount of €25 million and a loan from the Croatian Bank of Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) totalling €10 million. The DIV group operates production sites in Croatia as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Slovenia; in 2012, the DIV group also acquired the BrodoSplit shipyards through the government’s shipyard privatisation process…
