LPG: Port of Ploce Signs Sub-Concession Deal with PPD

On 16 October, the deep-seaport operator Port of Ploce said its wholly-owned unit Port of Ploce Trade had signed a sub-concession deal with the Zagreb-based gas trader Prvo Plinarsko Drustvo (PPD).  The agreement entails the construction of a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage tank, valued at approximately €25 million.

Located in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the Port of Ploce is the second largest Croatian port in terms of annual cargo volumes; the port of Rijeka is the largest.  The port has the capacity to handle 5.5 million tonnes per year (with development plans to increase this to 10 million tonnes) of various cargo (e.g. general, dry bulk cargo, liquid cargo), including 20,420 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).  In 2013, the port authority recorded 2.7 million tonnes of cargo traffic…
