LAWS TO WATCH: Electronic Communications Act
The government sent amendments to the Electronic Communications Act and the Regulation of Railway Market Act to the Sabor urgent procedure. According to the proposed amendments, the Rail Market Regulatory Agency (ARTZU) and the Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency (HAKOM) would be merged into a new agency called the Croatian Regulatory Agency for Network Operations, which would retain the abbreviation “HAKOM”.
The entry into force of the legislation will effectively end the mandate of ARTZU President and members of the Managing Council. HAKOM President and members of the Council will continue with their work and assume senior positions in the new agency. Existing employees of the ARTZU will come under the auspices of the new agency.
Note: The legislation was sent to the Sabor urgent procedure…
