LAWS TO WATCH: Croatian President Elections Act

According to the proposed amendments, the act abolishes the diaspora voters’ ability to vote in foreign offices. It will now be possible to vote only in diplomatic and consular missions, significantly limiting conservative diaspora voting.

Election public silence period will last until the polls are closed, as opposed to the present restriction until midnight. Croatian-Radio Television (HRT) is required to follow the election campaign of all candidates on equal terms. Commercial media can decide independently how to cover the elections.
