HAKOM: Approves VIPnet – CATV Concentration
The HAKOM decided that VIPnet’s takeover of 100% shares of CATV is not contrary to the principles and objectives set out in Article 5 of the Electronic Communications Act. On September 15, the telecoms operator VIPnet filed a notification of a merger of the TV and Internet company CATV from Karlovac.
Since CATV has an income of less than €13.1 million, the decision to assess the concentration was under the authority of the HAKOM, instead of the Croatian Competition Agency (AZTN).
The agency determined that the above concentration will not have a negative impact on the electronic communications market, and that there will be no competition distortion.
