GOVERNMENT: Approves Plomin C Power Plant as Strategic State Project

The government approved the proposal by the State Commission for Strategic Projects to name the coal-fired Plomin C power plant project a project of strategic interest to the Republic of Croatia.  The project is valued at €830 million and has received three binding offers – it is widely speculated that the consortium offers are led by Marubeni/Alstom, Edison/Samsung, Daewoo.

Analysis of the offers is expected to be completed by August, starting negotiations with the consortia.  Even though a handful of projects have been speculated to have been approved by the State Commission (i.e. LNG Terminal, Port of Rijeka, Piskornica waste management centre, Mali Losing airport)…
