FOREIGN POLICY: New Slovenian PM Alenka Bratusek Supports Croatia’s EU Treaty Ratification

After the Slovenian parliament voted against the Janez Jansa government in a no-confidence vote, the parliament elected Positive Slovenia party president, Alenka Bratusek, as the first woman for the position of Prime Minister.

The new coalition government is meant to be an intermediary government until the organisation of new parliamentary elections.  Regarding Croatia, especially the ratification of Croatia’s EU Accession Treaty, Bratusek emphasised that this was one of the new government’s priorities to maintain good neighbourly relations and it also in Slovenia’s strategic interest that Croatia become a full member of the EU…
