EU FUNDS: European Commission Approves Co-Financing of 2 Projects Totalling €102.7 Million

The European Commission approved a contribution of €102.7 million for the first two major projects in Croatia. The projects will be co-financed from the EU’s Cohesion Fund for Croatia, and will benefit 150,000 residents in Osijek and Porec, as well as 75,000 expected tourists per year. The first project envisages an upgrade of the sewer system in Osijek, including the construction of a wastewater treatment plant. The second envisages the construction of four wastewater treatment plants in Porec. The EU will contribute €102.7 million, with €53 million for Osijek and €49.7 million for Porec, while the national funds will finance €37 million; the total investment in these projects will be €139.7 million.
