EIB Opens Zagreb Office
The European Investment Bank (EIB) held their inauguration opening of their EIB Group Office in Zagreb on 5 October, in order to strengthen relations with promoters, partner banks and improve its outreach in the country.
EIB Vice-President responsible for lending operations in Croatia, Dario Scannapieco, stated that the new EIB Group Representation would further foster EIB Group operations in Croatia where the EU Bank has a very good record of cooperation, with a lending commitment of €4.5 billion.
He went on to say that it would allow them to better seize upon lending opportunities, blending of loans with EU grants and technical assistance opportunities, as well as better assess and respond to the financing needs of both the public and private sectors in Croatia. Head of the Zagreb Office, Anton Kovacev, said that the EIB is numerous projects, promising stronger cooperation in joint investments of Croatian and foreign investors, primarily from the EU.
