ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY: German Vice-Chancellor Rosler visits Croatia
German Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Dr. Philipp Rosler led a business delegation in Croatia. Apart from talks with the country’s President, Mr. Ivo Josipovic, the Croatian Prime Minister, Mr. Zoran Milanovic, and further cabinet members, the items on the agenda included a visit to Hrvatski Telekom, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, and the opening of the German-Croatian Business Forum.
The visit focuses on the exchange of views on the progress in the preparations of Croatia’s accession to the EU and the strengthening of the bilateral economic relations. Rosler said: “The German Federal Government looks forward to Croatia’s accession to the EU with positive expectations. Croatia’s EU membership will play a key role for the entire region. Although Croatia is already an attractive investment location for German firms, the Croatian Government needs to maintain a course of consistent reform and improve the framework conditions for investors. This includes fighting corruption without compromise.” (BJ)
