Croatia and Korea Sign Air Transport Agreement
On 30 December 2015, Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport, and Infrastructure, Sinisa Hajdas Doncic (SDP), and the Korean Ambassador to Croatia, Hyung-won Suh, signed an air transport agreement, which provides for the establishment of direct flights between the two countries.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport, and Infrastructure said that the agreement was the result of strong interest in the further advancement of exceptional bilateral relations and economic development between Croatia and Korea, “which establishes an international legal framework in the field of international civil air traffic between the two countries and provides for easier transport, and passenger and cargo flows”. Direct regular flights should encourage the future increase in the number of arrivals of Korean tourists to Croatia.
In recent years, Korea has become Croatia’s most dynamic non-European tourism market; in the first ten months of 2015, more than 300,000 South Korean tourists visited Croatia.
