Alternative Dispute Resolution between Croatia and Interested Parties
11 July 2016, VG Intelligence Weekly Issue 14
In order to implement the measures of the National Reform Plan, the government adopted the Alternative Dispute Resolution Decision between Interested Parties and Croatia, encompassing cases whereby either Croatia or a legal entity founded by the state is party to the dispute. The aim of the decision is to reduce legal costs of court disputes, and reduce the time required to resolve disputes. Instead of court procedures, the government proposes mediation, negotiation, and arbitration procedures. A special Committee for Alternative Dispute Resolution is to be established, comprised of Justice Ministry and Finance Ministry representatives, and a representative of the party to the dispute. The decision enters into force on the day of its adoption.
