AIRPORTS: French-led ZAIC Obtains Construction Permit for New Zagreb Airport’s Passenger Terminal

On 11 September, the Ministry of Construction and Spatial Planning issued a construction permit to the French-led consortium, Zagreb Airport International Company (ZAIC), for a new passenger terminal at the Zagreb Airport (ZLZ). The construction works are scheduled to start in October.  As part of the 30-year concession signed in April 2012, ZAIC is also supposed to take over the management of the existing airport.

The new terminal, valued at €365 million, will encompass facilities over 65,000 square metres with a capacity for five million passengers a year. Christophe Petit, development director at Bouygues Batiment International, said the funding has been secured and the necessary documentation will be completed and ready for signature by the end of this month or early October…
