EU Parliament Panel Discussion: Croatia’s LNG Terminal and Its Importance for Energy Diversification of Southeast Europe

Vlahovic Group, in cooperation with the Croatia EU Business Council and LNG Croatia, organised a panel discussion in the European Parliament on the topic of the planned floating LNG terminal on the island of Krk. The panel was attended by prominent EU energy experts, EU body representatives, as well as business leaders interested in the  South-eastern European gas market. The event was hosted by Ms Ivana Maletic, a prominent Croatian MEP, and a proponent of  the diversification of energy sources in Europe.

The event served as a great opportunity for the Brussels community to hear about the realisation of the floating terminal, as well as a completion timeline. Goran Francic, the director of LNG Croatia, elaborated that the construction phase is to be completed by the end of 2019, with the first gas flow expected in Q1 2020. The launch of Croatia’s LNG floating terminal should coincide with Croatia’s presidency over the Council of the EU.
